Lanier Speedway
8-6-2011Kyle Doubles up at Lanier Speedway!
After winning his 3rd Legends race in a row last night at Anderson Motor Speedway, Kyle went to Lanier with high expectations. You can see the confidence level increasing the more he gets into the car. This race will be a challenge since Kyle will have to pilot his Red Top Auto Auction, Dickson Investments, Jett Food Stores Legend and also the Red Top Auto Auction, Buggay Motorsports Late Model.
Legend- Kyle went out for practice in the legend for the 1st round, and was really fast. He decided not to run the 2nd practice, or run the heat race, since he had to start in the rear from winnng the last time he was there. Kyle started dead last in the feature and within 5 laps, he had the lead. Kyle went on to stretch the lead as the race went green to checker. After the race, Kyle said, "The car was great. This was neat to win my 4th Legend race in a row. I don't think I has ever done that before. Thanks to David Ragan Inc., Brett Ragan, Chris Dilbeck, Steve Bakeef and Amy for a great car and a great time in Charlotte this summer. Also thanks to Red Top Auto Auction, Dickson Investments, Jett Food Stores and FRS Contracting for all their support."
Late Model- Kyle was real excited about the Late Model race today. He practiced the #4, that he has driven for most of this year, and then, Dwayne Buggay , let him drive the #45 that Dwayne usually drives. Kyle liked the #45 better so Dwayne turned him loose. Kyle qualified 2nd with a great lap of 13.93. He lined up on the outside of row one, and right away showed that the quick lap was not a fluke. He raced hard with the #38 and ended up 2nd in the first 50 lap race. Sawyer rolled a 3 with the dice, so they inverted the 3 from the first race. Kyle had to start on the outside front row again. Kyle got a great start and cleared the leader by the end of the 1st lap. He led the first 40 laps, until a late race caution came out for a spin on the back stretch. On the restart, Kyle got away from the 2nd place driver by a couple of car lenths. Then another caution with 6 to go. On this restart, Kyle didn't get away. Simpson started exactly when Kyle got on the gas and the two of them banged off each other down the front stretch. Simpson got the lead coming off of turn #2 and Kyle had a nose back under him going into turn #3. Kyle didn't push the issue and finished the race 2nd. He said, "I could have turned him going in to turn #3, but he had given me room in the first 50 lapper, and I just want these guys to respect me, so I gave him the favor back. I wish he wouldn't have banged into me on that last restart, but thats ok. I will be ready for that next time. I don't know how I keep the car from spinning, because he really jacked me up. I really wanted to win, but that was pretty exciting for the last 10 laps. Thanks to all the fans, my sponsors and a special thanks to Dwayne Buggay, Jeff Holden (Mumbles) and all the Buggay Motorsports team. See ya next time."
