Lanier Speedway
8-20-2011-Both Plottboyz do great @ Lanier
Kyle went to Lanier anticipating running the Late Model and the Legends class again. Once he got to the track and talking to younger brother Kason, Kyle decided to let Kason run his Legend, due to Kasons Legend has not been fixed yet. Kason practiced the car for 2 rounds and was 2nd quickest to the #82. Kason was planning on subbing for Kyle, until we were informed from Tech. that he couldn't. This was a decision that was made by the tower, so Kason ran as a Young Lion. That is the problem with this race track, I am sure that the 1 other Pro car that was there didn't mind that Kason was going to run for his brother. It isn't like Kyle was subbing for Kason. RIDICULOUS!! Oh well, Kason went out and did a extremely good job, swapping the lead with Taylor for several laps. Kason finished 2nd in the feature, but he won the Young Lions class. GREAT JOB KASON!!! Kason said after the race, "I feel bad for Kyle. He needed this race for National Points, but they (Lanier Speedway) messed it up. I guess I should have let Kyle run the race."
Kyle wasn't too concerned about the Legend points. He was concentrating on the Late Model and trying to get to victory lane again. Kyle was fastest in practice and qualified 2nd with a 14.01. This was a good lap, but Kyle was expecting more. He said, "that lap felt a lot better than a 01. I really thought I got in the high 80s. The car felt tremendous." Kyle lined up for the first race 2nd, and within a few laps, he had the lead from team car #4 (Mummble). Kyle led the rest of the way and won the race. Kyle thanks Red Top Collector Car Auction, Wallace Sanford, Buggay Motorsports and crew, Dickson Investments, FRS Contracting and all the fans for coming out, and especially the fans that drove 3 1/2 hours from North Carolina. "I don't know how to explain, how much it means to Kason and myself, that these fans come out to see us race," Kyle said.
Kyle rolled the dice for the inversion, and had to start last in the 2nd feature. Kyle worked his way to 2nd place after a few laps and started chasing down the leader. He got to within a car lenth of the leader and that was as close as he would get. Kyle finished 2nd in the final feature and was pretty happy about that. He said, "I can't believe how much clean air matters to these cars on this track. I got close to the leader and could'nt do no more. I am happy with a win and a 2nd, I just really thought I had the car to beat tonight. Thanks to Jeff and Mark Holden for giving me a good car to drive."
Kyle will be on 94.9 the bull next Sunday and also will be at a autograph session at David Ragans Ford dealership on August 31st. Come and see Kyle with his "Big Money 100" winning #4 Legend.
